The Cortés
The Cortés represents the best combination of current and new technologies that Tesoro has to offer. When Jack Gifford and Vince Gifford set out to create a new target ID machine they each brought with them different experience. Jack has over twenty-five years experience designing some of the best analog detectors that have been on the market. Vince brought with him a decade of computer systems experience. Together, they have been creating new technology that gives our detectors superior performance and keeps them easy to use. Various parts of this technology have been finding it's way into Tesoro detectors since the introduction of the Golden µMax. The new Cortés represents all phases of our new microprocessor technology combined with our tried and true analog circuits to create a detector that has all of the high end features our customers have asked for with user friendly Tesoro controls. |

The Compadre
The Tesoro Compadre was designed with the idea that less is more. This modest machine can do a lot of the same things that its bigger brothers can do. It works great for coin hunting, competition hunting and relic hunting, but it does it without any excess knobs. Switch on the detector and you're working in a silent search, motion all metal mode. The farther you turn the knob, the more discrimination you can bring to bear on those trashy sites. The Compadre has it all. One knob simplicity for the beginner and high gain circuitry and the famous Tesoro ED-180 discrimination for the advanced user. If one detector can do all of this, maybe less is more. |

The Silver µMax
The Silver µMax The Silver Sabre series has had a very long history with Tesoro Electronics. It was first introduced in 1983. In a time when "lunch box" detectors were the norm, the original Silver Sabre was perceived as a toy unit. There have been many men who bought one for the wife and wound up using it because it worked as well as any other detector on the market. Advertised as "strong, simple, silent", the Silver Sabre has gone through many changes over the years. The Silver Sabre Plus added a no motion all metal circuit. The Silver Sabre II added a new plastic housing and new Hybrid Circuit technology. Several years ago we introduced the Silver Sabre µMax with an incredibly small housing and Max Boost technology. A number of men bought one for their wife and wound up using it because it worked as well as any other detector on the market. (Sounds familiar doesn't it?) Tesoro has decided to bring the Silver back full circle to where it started. The original Silver Sabre was a turn on and go detector with Silent Search discrimination and all metal modes. The new Silver µMax returns to its roots and offers strong, silent and simple operation once again. The Silver µMax uses a microprocessor to control the audio tone and battery test. |

The Conquistador µMax
The Conquistador joined the Tesoro lineup only one year ago, but it has made quite an impression. It was the first Tesoro detector to have a frequency shifter. Both relic hunters and competition hunters immediately fell in love with the unit. The detector's versatility proved to be the match for some of the toughest conditions in the world. The Conquistador µMax uses Tesoros' latest technology to make the Conquistador a little better. First they used their latest microprocessor controlled PCB. The microprocessor controls the audio tone, frequency shift and the battery test for the Conquistador µMax. The mode switch has been changed to include the switchable battery test. Tesoro has also added a VCO all metal pinpointing feature. The most noticeable change is that the Frequency shift switch has been moved up to the front of the faceplate. The "trigger switch" on the original Conquistador was great if you were right handed, but lefties had a bit of a problem with the placement. The Conquistador comes standard with the 9x8 coil and will have Tesoros' latest plastic faceplate. |

The Eldorado
When it comes to the perfect detector, everyone has his or her own personal ideas of what is needed. Coin hunters want adjustable sensitivity and discrimination controls. Relic hunters and prospectors want an adjustable ground balance. Competition hunters want a frequency shifter. Everyone wants a VCO pinpoint to make targets easier to dig. The Tesoro engineers have combined all of these features into one machine that will handle just about any type of terrain that you may encounter. No other detector can match the Eldorado for adaptability, sensitivity and survivability. With all of these features and Tesoro's Lifetime Warranty, if you are only going to buy one detector, make sure it is an Eldorado. |

The Sand Shark
Tesoros' new Sand Shark combines time-proven PI circuits with the latest digital technology creating the first microprocessor controlled PI detector for the new Millennium. Pulse Induction (PI) detectors have always been the natural choice for working wet salt beaches. Their circuitry and single loop coils will not see changes in salt-water conductivity that drive a VLF-style detector crazy. Add Tesoro Electronics' exclusive interchangeable Printed Spiral coils (available in four sizes) and you create a fantastic PI detector. But Tesoro didn't stop there. The Sand Shark has two distinct operating modes: VCO and Normal. When working in the VCO mode, as targets get closer to the coil, the threshold generates a louder, higher pitched tone great for pinpointing. The Normal mode works with a single tone and is used for beachcombing and other prolonged searches. Tesoro has added a microprocessor to help you customize the detector to your specific needs. Tesoros' Pulse Width control allows you to tune your detector to the best balance of depth, sensitivity, and battery life. You can also change the Normal mode audio frequency. Simply use the "F" Adjust knob to set the tone and you're ready to go. The Sand Shark also has a new drop-in battery compartment for quick and easy changes. |

The Tiger Shark
The Tiger Shark uses microprocessor technology to create a true dual function machine. In Normal Mode, the Tiger Shark works like any other Tesoro detector. It uses the same great ground balance and discrimination features that made the Bandido series so successful. On land, the Tiger Shark can be used for coin and relic hunting and even gold prospecting. By using the four controls on the outside, you can fine tune your detector to handle whatever conditions you are working in. Working in the wet salt areas is where the Tiger Shark outshines the land detectors. In land conditions, the most crucial adjustment is using the ground balance to tune out mineralization. In wet salt conditions, changes in the conductivity in the sand cause most of the problems. The Tiger Shark uses a completely different set of internal settings in the SALT Mode than in the NORM Mode. There are no special controls or techniques to remember. The Tiger Shark continues in the tradition of other great Tesoro underwater machines by having interchangeable coils available. Along with the 8" coil that comes standard with the detector, we also manufacture a 7" and a 10 1/2" coil. |
